Delivery & Returns
At Hairy Dog Brewery, we want your beer and merchandise to arrive quickly, safely and in great condition. This policy explains how we process and deliver orders, as well as what to do if something goes wrong or you need to return an item.
Order Processing
We normally process orders within 1–2 working days.
Orders placed after 12pm, at weekends or on Bank Holidays will normally be processed on the next working day.
During particularly busy periods, such as Christmas, Father's Day or special beer releases, dispatch may take a little longer.
We'll do our best to keep you informed if there is a significant delay with your order.
UK Delivery
We currently deliver to addresses throughout mainland UK.
Delivery charges are calculated at checkout and will depend on your order and delivery address.
Once your order has been dispatched, we'll send you a confirmation email. Tracking information will also be provided where this is available from the courier.
Please allow approximately 2–5 working days after dispatch for delivery.
Delivery times are estimates rather than guaranteed delivery dates unless we have expressly agreed otherwise.
Local Delivery
We offer local delivery to selected areas of Sussex on scheduled delivery days.
If your postcode is eligible for local delivery, the option will be displayed during checkout.
Available delivery days and charges may vary depending on your location.

Please do not travel to collect your order until you have received confirmation that it is ready.
Collections should be made during our advertised opening or collection hours.
Alcohol & Age Verification
You must be 18 years of age or older to purchase alcohol from Hairy Dog Brewery.
By placing an order containing alcohol, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old.
Age verification may be carried out when your order is placed and/or when it is delivered or collected.
Our delivery partners may ask the person receiving an alcohol order to provide valid photographic identification where proof of age is required.
We support a Challenge 25 approach to the responsible sale of alcohol. If you appear to be under 25, you may be asked to provide suitable proof that you are aged 18 or over.
Acceptable forms of identification may include:
-
A valid passport.
-
A valid photographic driving licence.
-
A PASS-approved proof-of-age card.
If suitable proof of age cannot be provided when requested, the alcohol will not be handed over and the delivery or collection may be refused.
Additional delivery charges may apply if an order has to be returned to us or redelivered following a failed age-verification check, where permitted by law.
Someone Else Accepting Your Delivery
If an order contains alcohol, please ensure that an adult aged 18 or over is available to receive it.
Our courier may refuse to leave alcohol unattended, in a safe place or with a person who cannot provide satisfactory proof of age when requested.

We will deal with the matter in accordance with your statutory rights.
Cancelling an Online Order
If you are purchasing as a consumer, you may have a legal right to cancel certain online purchases without giving a reason.
Where the statutory cancellation right applies, you normally have 14 days from the day after you receive the goods to tell us that you wish to cancel.
After notifying us that you wish to cancel, you should return the relevant goods to us within the period required by law.
Some products or circumstances may be exempt from the statutory right to cancel. Your statutory rights will always apply where required by law.

Please include your name and order number.
Beer and Other Drinks
If you change your mind about an order containing beer or other drinks, please contact us before returning anything.
Where you have a statutory right to cancel your purchase, we will honour that right.
Please take reasonable care of products while they are in your possession. Wherever possible, drinks being returned should remain unopened, unused and securely packaged.
We may make a deduction from a refund where permitted by law if the value of goods has been reduced because they have been handled more than would reasonably be necessary to inspect them.
This section does not limit your rights where a product is faulty, damaged, unsafe or not as described.
Merchandise Returns
For clothing, glassware and other non-food merchandise, we offer a 30-day returns period for change-of-mind returns.
To qualify under our 30-day returns policy, items should be:
-
Unused.
-
Unworn, where applicable.
-
In their original packaging where reasonably possible.
-
In a resaleable condition.
Please contact us before returning an item.
Our voluntary 30-day returns period is in addition to, and does not replace, any statutory cancellation or consumer rights you may have.
Unless an item is faulty, damaged or incorrect, you will normally be responsible for the cost of returning a change-of-mind purchase.
Return Postage
If you are returning an item because you have changed your mind, you will normally be responsible for the cost of returning it unless we agree otherwise or the law requires us to cover the cost.
If an item is faulty, damaged or was supplied incorrectly, please contact us before returning it so that we can advise you on the appropriate return arrangements.
Please package returned goods securely. We recommend obtaining proof of postage when sending a return.
Refunds
Once we receive a return, we will inspect it and confirm the outcome of your return request.
Where a refund is due, it will be made to the original payment method, unless otherwise agreed or required.
We aim to process approved refunds promptly. After we issue a refund, your bank or payment provider may take additional time to show the funds in your account.
Where statutory refund deadlines apply, we will process your refund within the period required by law.
Delivery Charges on Cancelled Orders
Where you exercise a statutory right to cancel an entire order, we will refund the relevant standard delivery charge where required by law.
If you chose a more expensive delivery option than our standard delivery service, we may only be required to refund the cost of our standard delivery option.
Return postage for change-of-mind cancellations will normally be your responsibility unless we have agreed otherwise or the law requires us to pay it.
