After 25 years in the City of London James returned to his born and bred Sussex roots 2 years ago to run Black Dog Hill Vineyard (BDH). The vineyard was planted in 2007, from which point the family-run concern began to take off. As CEO he has driven BDH forward. It is now a multiaward winning and globally acclaimed vineyard and wine producer at the forefront of the English wine revolution.
With the knowledge and connections he has locally and in wider markets, it was a logical step for him to be involved in a brewery that celebrates the values he holds dearly.
Sussex is central to his life and the Downs are in his blood.
